Introduction
to Advanced Wreck Diving principles and techniques:
This is a
great opportunity to learn about and discuss the principles and
procedures for conducting advanced wreck penetration dives. Divers
who are interested in becoming advanced wreck divers will be
introduced to the skills and techniques which must be practiced
prior to enrollment in an advanced wreck course. Seasoned penetration
divers will have a chance to brush up on their skills and ask
questions about current industry practices. Areas of discussion
will include: Gear configurations for wreck penetration, working
with guidelines, gas management, the dangers and logistics of
drift decompression, and the importance of seeking proper training.
The Advanced Wreck workshop will be conducted by Richard Dreher
who is a TDI Advanced Wreck Instructor Trainer. Richard grew
up diving the shipwrecks of Lake Superior and now resides in
North Florida where he teaches cave, advanced wreck, and mixed
gas diving full time. There is a limit of 10 participants per
workshop. A small group atmosphere will encourage hands-on participation
and plenty of Q&A opportunities. A small fee of $5 will charged
for participation, classroom, and any proceeds will benefit the
GLSPS.
Classes will be held Saturday February 28th 2009 at 12:15
pm, 1:15 pm, and 3:00 pm in the AmericInn Hotel suite 108 Each
class is 45 minutes including time for discussion.
