Closing Report:
This was the first time a couple of the GLSPS active members visited the WUAA Symposium. Both Tim Pranke and Phil Kerber attended the event and were pleasantly surprised with the program they had set up for the public.
The Symposium was at the Neville Public Museum's Auditorium in Green Bay Wisconsin. It was very well presented by the WUAA President Kevin Cullen and the rest of the staff.
They had many interesting topics and speakers. We were mostly interested in the Field School the WHS has to offer and be able to learn more about surveying underwater shipwrecks for documentation and the process of nominating them to the National Register of Historical Places.
After the Symposium we met at a restaurant called St Brendon's Eatery. Great place to have dinner and take in more discussion about scuba diving shipwrecks and their history.
The next day, Sunday, we decided to travel up the Thumb of Door County. It was fall time and the leaves on the trees were very beautiful! We were happy we took the extra time when we were in Green Bay to travel all the way up to the tip of Door County and back again.
We highly recommend a trip out to Green Bay Wisconsin to attend the WUAA Symposium. Especially if you have an interest in obtaining more information about shipwrecks and their history.
We hope to see more interest next year for the WUAA Symposium. If interested, please don't hesitate to ask Tim Pranke or Phil Kerber.
