Jay Hanson from North Shore Scenic Cruises has helped the GLSPS on many projects. Jay has many years of experience as a Captain, dive shop owner, dive instructor and commercial diver.

Jay has taken a different path for the past few years and his scuba charters are no longer available. However, in 2012, Jay purchased the Wenonah which was previously used to transport people from Grand Portage, MN to Isle Royale, MI. He now offers day cruises on the North Shore of Lake Superior and is docked at the Silver Bay, MN Marina.

For the last two years the Wenonah has been laid up in dry dock to replace the entire steel bottom of the boat in order to pass the Coast Guard Safety Inspection.
The Wenonah will hopefully be ready for service in 2020.

If you are interested in booking a 2 hour - day charter cruise on the North Shore of Lake Superior, please click on the logo above for information on joining him and his staff on a north shore day cruise.

The GLSPS 2012 Programs and Projects Schedule now Released

Phil Kerber  | Published on 2/1/2012

The GLSPS Programs and Project Schedule was released 2-1-2012.  Please take a minute to read through the schedule for the spring, summer and the fall months of GLSPS Projects.  If you find that you are interested in any of the projects, please register by clicking on the event.  Then clicking on the "Register Now" button.

This year we added a First Responder Course to the schedule for those that are due to update their First Aid Status.  The GLSPS only offers this course every other year.  If you would like to take this Course because you are outdated and are out of sync with when the GLSPS offers the course, please contact our instructors Scott or Tracy Wemyss from Air Down There Scuba.  They will be happy to place you in their next First Aid Classroom.

Please read description before you Register for a Project.  Hopefully you the members are able to join the GLSPS on a diving project this year.

Please enjoy,

GLSPS Board of Directors.
