GLSPS Annual General Membership Meeting

November 18, 2014

Every year the GLSPS Board of Directors is required to present an “Annual General Membership Meeting” to the GLSPS membership.  We advertise this by sending a blast email to all the members through the GLSPS website and also put the announcement on the top of the front page of the website.  Members can add the date to their calendars and hopefully join us.

This year we had our regular presentation from the GLSPS President with a 45-minute talk about last summer’s projects.  We also talked about what might be in the plan in 2015 projects.  At the end of the presentation, we announce the newly elected Board of Directors.  We had five seats up for election (or re-election).

The GLSPS Election Results:

  1. Phil Kerber – Re-elected
  2. Dale Koziol – Re-elected
  3. Joe Musial – Re-elected
  4. Ken Knutson – Former Director
  5. Dean Soderbeck – New Board of Director

After a short break we introduced Roger Peterson, a Professional Underwater Photographer, that shoots photos for many different professional publications such as Outdoor Life, Field & Stream, etc.  His talk was very interesting about “The Life of an Underwater Photographer”.  Lots of fish photos and a description on what it takes to be an underwater photographer.

The GLSPS would like to thank Roger Peterson for speaking at the “GLSPS Annual General Membership Meeting”.

On another note, we seem to get the same people and only a few additional members participating in the meeting.  It takes many hours to set up this meeting for the members, and we also invite a special speaker for the meeting.   The meeting is only two hours and everyone has a great time.

We are asking for your input.  Is there a reason why the members are not participating in the annual meeting?  We would like to hear some input from our members.   Please let us know using the email below or log onto the GLSPS website and click on “Contact Us” to send us an email.  We would greatly appreciate your input.

Please join us for the next Annual Membership Meeting in November, 2015.  They are always scheduled the week before Thanksgiving and on a Tuesday evening.
